Today, One Big Switch launched our Big Taxi Report as part of our latest campaign to reduce the cost of taxis in Ireland.

TAXI Main

The Big Taxi Report is the culmination of the largest ever consumer survey taken on the taxi industry with over 1700+ members sharing their experiences and opinions with us.

Some of the key findings of the report include:

64% agreed with Deregulation citing improved availability as the main reason.
1 in 2 consumers believe taxis supplement a poor public transport system
45% get their taxis through radio operators
3 out of 4 people primarily use a taxi for a night out
1 in 3 consumers consider price as the their biggest irritation

How do people expect an improved taxi service with reduced prices. If a taxi is in bad condition report it and stop trying to put the licensed driver out of business who offers the good service.

Lots of taxis in bad condition, smell of smoke disgusting and seem to be in about 2 out of 3 I get. Don't feel safe in taxis anymore as some of the drivers are fairly dodgy and some of them don't have a clue of their directions. I used to use taxis a lot now I try any means to avoid using them.
