One Big Switch is a consumer network which uses its combined people power to unlock group discounted offers on various household bills.

Since early 2014, One Big Switch has used the huge people power of 85,000+ members to unlock group discounted offers on household energy, health insurance, home broadband and telephone calls and in doing so, has helped tens of thousands of Irish households save on their household bills.

Subject to ensuring we comply with the relevant licencing or regulatory environment, we’re always out and about trying to source offers for our members. For example, we’re trying to source offers for banking products – whether that be your mortgage or your credit card; your different types of insurances - life, home or car insurance; your weekly grocery shop or fuel bill.
What is the Big Energy Switch?
The Big Energy Switch is a campaign that aims to unlock a group discounted electricity and gas offers for consumers using the buying power of tens of thousands of householders. The campaign is powered by One Big Switch.
The Big Energy Switch campaign aims to:
- Signing up 20,000 consumers in the next 4 weeks willing to switch together.
- Use their collective buying power to negotiate discounted electricity and gas offers.
- Make those group-discounted offers available to those who join the campaign.
How does it work?
There are 3 simple steps:
- You register to demonstrate your support. It only takes a few moments, it costs nothing and you are not obliged to take up any offers we negotiate.
- We source the offers. We use the massive buying power of the campaign to potentially unlock group discounted electricity & gas offers.
- You decide. We email you any offers we manage to unlock and you can apply if you decide the offer is right for you.
Do I have to switch to One Big Switch offers if I join?
Joining the One Big Switch is obligation and cost free. You just decide if the offer is right for you. One Big Switch members are free to use our offers as leverage to shop around, or to see if they can get a better deal from their existing providers.
Are One Big Switch offers the cheapest offers around?
Not necessarily. Any Big Switch is a bold experiment to see if we can source offers that you can’t get as an individual. Some customers are on legacy deals and special deals that are not available cost-free to the general public. Other providers could also be compelled to compete with One Big Switch offers by offering more competitive offers, which is great. It means consumers win even more.
